The Latin American Ada Lovelace Event will celebrate its fifth edition with 122 host sites in 12 countries
Next Saturday, October 3, 2026, a new edition of the Latin American Day of STEM Workshops for girls and adolescent women Ada Lovelace will take place, an initiative that promotes interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through playful, experimental and collaborative experiences.
In this fifth edition, the Event will reach a new participation record with 122 host sites distributed across 12 countries in Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. The activities will take place simultaneously throughout the region on Saturday, October 3, while the host sites in Brazil will hold the Event on Saturday, November 7.
Launched in Argentina in 2022 by a team of women scientists and researchers, Ada Lovelace consolidated as a Latin American network made up of universities, schools, organizations and educational institutions committed to the promotion of scientific and technological vocations in girls aged 10 to 12.
Over the course of one morning, the host sites will open their doors to welcome the participants with workshops specially designed to discover, create, experiment and learn by doing. The proposals promote critical thinking, creativity, collaborative work and problem solving through challenges linked to science, mathematics, programming, engineering and the maker culture.
In addition to the in-person activities, the Event connects all host sites through live regional meetings, where girls from different countries share experiences, challenges and learnings, strengthening a Latin American community committed to a more inclusive scientific education.
In its 2025 edition, more than 2,100 girls took part in the activities carried out throughout the region, consolidating Ada Lovelace as one of the main Latin American initiatives to promote the early access of girls and adolescents to STEM disciplines.
Registration to take part in the 2026 edition will open during the month of August and will take place through the participating host sites. On the official website, the map of host sites, the available activities and all the information to participate can be consulted.
About Ada Lovelace
The Event takes place within the framework of Ada Lovelace Day, an international celebration that recognizes the contributions of women to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Since 2022, this initiative brings together a network of universities, educational institutions, organizations, teachers, researchers and outreach workers who work collaboratively to bring STEM closer to new generations of girls and adolescents throughout Latin America.
